Joanna Ward (b. 1998) is a composer, performer, and writer from Newcastle upon Tyne, currently based in London.

Joanna's score-making ranges from the relatively conventional to the very experimental. She often works with pre-recorded audio, video, and in collaboration with other musicians and artists.

Recent projects have included working with her sister, Laurie Ward, on a collaborative piece for LCMF 2025; creating works for the Marian Consort for the Aldeburgh Festival 2024, for Slide Action for their album on NMC Recordings, for the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra for Tectonics Festival 2022, for Zubin Kanga's Cyborg Soloists project, for the Aldeburgh Festival 2022, for EXAUDI for the Norfolk & Norwich Festival, for Natalie Burch for her recent album on Delphian Records, and a co-creation project with Newcastle Youth Choir for the Newcastle Sings Festival 2022.

Upcoming projects include: a piece for chamber ensemble for Figure, performed at Stone Nest in February 2025; a new piece for Musarc, for Summer 2025; new vocal music for Lotte Betts-Dean; an album of

Joanna is a musician who makes scores, sounds, and films, very often in collaboration with other performers, composers, and artists. Her work ranges from the relatively conventional to the very open. She is also a vocalist and performer of contemporary and experimental work, and an improviser. She is from Newcastle upon Tyne, currently based in London.

Dr Ward is one of the UK’s top cosmetic doctors with over 15 years injectable experience and over 100,000 injectable treatments performed. Dr Ward studied English literature at Oxford university before coming to London to study medicine at Kings. She qualified as a Doctor in 2005 and went on to specialise as a GP. 

Dr Ward’s interest in dermatology developed when she was a GP and she soon found herself specialising in minor surgery and dermatology. She got a distinction in her Diploma in Clinical Dermatology at St Barts London (2011) and has gone on to specialise in Medical Aesthetics. She also has post graduate training in women’s health with the Diploma in Obsestrics and Gynaecology.
