1922 Granada arts festival
El Concurso del Cante Jondo (Contest of the Deep Song) was a fiesta of flamenco arts, music, song, and dance, held in Granada in 1922.[1] Conceived and initiated by composer Manuel de Falla, it enjoyed early and strong support from the poet Federico García Lorca. The two-day evening event was held outdoors at the Alhambra. The show included the best of well-known flamenco artists, but the contest's prize money was reserved for amateur performers.[2]

The Spanish classical composer Manuel de Falla (1876–1946) was the principal organizer of the Concurso.[3] He sought to encourage and enhance the music of cante jondo (literally "deep song", referring to a key element of flamenco, as opposed to "cante chico", the "lighter" more accessible element), which he sensed had fallen into a period of decadence.[4] Falla simply recognized in flamenco an art form of great beauty and drive. RULES
1) Iberamerik Concert Association, organizer of the Barcelona International Guitar Contest Miquel Llobet, announces the fifth edition in Composition for Classic Guitar.
2) The contest is open to any composer of any age and nationality, provided that they were not awarded the first prize in any previous edition of the contest, or with the second prize in one of the last two editions.
3) The composition needs to be original and unpublished and it shouldn’t have been awarded any prize in any previous contest. Also, the composition shouldn’t have been premiered, published on the web, played or broadcasted in the radio or recorded on any support.
4) The composition must be written for classic guitar (any electroacustic mean, or external devices are not allowed) and it must last between 3 and 6 minutes.

2025 Alhambra Guitars Scholarship
Sohta Nakabayashi (Japan, Tokyo, 2000) began playing the guitar at the age of three under the guidance of Takayuki Azuma. He later met guitarist Manuel Babiloni during one of his tours in Japan, who became his primary mentor. Nakabayashi maintained regular contact with Babiloni through periodic meetings in both Spain and Japan until the maestro’s sudden passing.
He completed his Bachelor’s degree in guitar at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid (RCSMM) under Professor Miguel Trápaga, graduating with the “Extraordinary Award” for outstanding achievement. He then pursued a Master’s degree in solo performance at the Katarina Gurska Center under professor Pedro Mateo.
Nakabayashi has been invited to perform concerts and give masterclasses in Austria, Bosnia, Italy, Sweden, Spain, the United States, and Japan. His performances have taken place in renowned venues such as Musikverein Wien (Austria), Uppsala Konsert & Kongress (Sweden), the Texas Guitar Festival (USA), and the prestigious Muza Kawasaki Symphony Hall (Japan
