Sean Faris (born March 25, 1982[2]) is an American actor. He is known for his roles as Jake Tyler in Never Back Down, Kyo Kusanagi in The King of Fighters, and Rick Penning in Forever Strong. He also played Tom in Ghost Machine.

Early life

Faris was born on March 25, 1982, in Houston, Texas, the son of Katherine and Warren Stephen Faris.[3] His family was working-class and lived in a small house in Houston; he moved to Ohio at age 12, where he attended Padua Franciscan High School[4] in Parma and Barbizon Modeling and Acting School in Cleveland.[5] In 1999, Faris competed at the International Model and Talent Association.[6]

Sean Hardy Faris was born in Houston, Texas, to Katherine (Miller) and Warren Stephen Faris. He is of English, German, Scottish, and Irish descent. Sean moved to Ohio at age twelve, and has been honing his craft in Los Angeles since moving four years upon his high school graduation. He received an MTV Movie Award for his lead role in Summit Entertainment's hit Never Back Down, and starred as Betty White's grandson and Jennifer Love Hewitt's love interest in the CBS Hallmark Hall of Fame telefilm The Lost Valentine. In addition to his central role in the rugby-inspired feature Forever Strong, he appeared as Dennis Quaid's eldest son in Paramount's hit remake of the classic Yours, Mine & Ours and previously starred as the hunky object of affection in MGM's comedy romp Sleepover. Texan Sean Faris began modeling as a teenager in his adopted home of Cleveland, Ohio. In 2000, after graduating from high school, he moved to Los Angeles in the hopes of leveraging his modeling success into a career in acting. Faris kicked off his Hollywood career with appearances in an indie action movie and a recurring role as Darren on MTV's eyebrow-raising teen soap "Undressed." He played a prom king in 2004's junior chick-flick "Sleepover" and then landed a role as the eldest son to a family of 20 in "Yours, Mine and Ours," a 2005 remake of a film starring comic legend Lucille Ball and based on the same true story of divorcées who marry and struggle to integrate their respective broods. In 2004, he earned the lead in the short-lived but well-regarded teen dramedy "Life As We Know It."
