He was born and brought up in India. He was born in a music-loving family. His father, Eknath Deshpande, was also a great musician who has worked with veterans like Mohammed Rafi, Manna Dey, and Shankar Jaikishan. On the other hand, his mother Pranita Deshpande, used to sing in the famous Marathi Orchestra ‘Menhandichya Paanavar.’ They always supported and motivated him to pursue singing as a career.
